Which car to buy?

Buying a car can be bewildering due to the numerous options available. Here are a few tips on choosing a car wisely.

1. First, select the brands and genres (ex: sedans / SUVs) that you are interested in.

2. Give priority to drive comfort. Shop for the higher end trims.  In terms of drive comfort, the higher end trims are typically better than a lower end trim in a more expensive brand car.

3. List options you must absolutely have. I would suggest: Tinted windows, power everything, power-adjustable side mirrors, AC, cruise control, daytime-running lights, bluetooth.

4. Identify options you probably don’t need. Examples: All-wheel drive, sunroof, dual-zone climate control, navigation, lane-assist.

5. Consider fuel economy and type of fuel. 87 Octane is cheaper than 93 Octane. This affects the running cost of the car.

6. Consider resale value, availability of spare parts, and maintenance costs.

After doing the above exercise, test drive your short-listed choice of vehicles and pick the one you like best!
